Join us for our upcoming "death chat" where Shelley Ockenden will be talking about children and grief.

Shelly has been a registered nurse for 32 years working in the community in the areas of Public Health and Long Term Care. Over the past decade, she has supported children who required specialized services in the school setting or were receiving palliative care. Two years ago Shelly became certified in Hospice Palliative Care Nursing with the Canadian Nurses Association.

Shelley brings a wealth of information about how children process grief through different stages of development, and how they can be best supported.

While Shelley will be making a presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions, share personal experiences, or simply sit quietly and take everything in.

This is not grief support/counselling, but an open table discussion. RSVPs are appreciated (talk to Pastor Steve or call Vicci (Ryan) Newman at 250-318-2651), but feel free to simply show up.
