Guest Preacher the Rev. Harold Wiest (Elder Marion Hannaford)

After a 10-year career in real estate law, and a 4-year stopover at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA, Harold Wiest and his wife Charlene moved to Dawson Creek to begin ministry in the PCC. A 14-year ministry in Dawson Creek where their 3 boys were born was followed by a 14-year ministry here at St. Andrew's. In his retirement, Harold has published a 710-page book and enjoys his 2 grandchildren, gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Call to Worship (Psalm 103)

Praise the Lord, O my soul;
All that is within me, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases;
He crowns me with love and compassion;
He doesn't treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.

Announcements

BC Covid Update: Restrictions have been removed. Masks are recommended in indoor public settings for all people 12 and older who are not yet fully vaccinated.
Bible Studies & Sunday School: Our Bible Studies and Sunday School classes are on summer break.
Birthdays & Anniversaries: TBD
Pastoral Care: Pastor Steve will be taking a month of holidays followed by two weeks of study leave. He will be back in the office on August 31. Please speak to your elder if you have any pastoral concerns.
Election of Elders: What happens if I say 'yes' to being an elder? If the congregation discerns God’s calling by voting for you, and if you discern God’s calling and accept the invitation, and the Session affirms the call, then during a worship service you will be asked a set of questions to which you will respond with promises of service. Then you are “ordained” as an elder—ordained to seek the will of God and to guide the church according to Scriptures.
