Call to Worship/Light of the Advent Candle

In our church and homes, we join together to pray.
We acknowledge lost hopes, broken peace, limited joys,
and love that is hard to find and share in this season of coronavirus.
As we light these candles we remind ourselves that
God’s light has come into the world and nothing can overcome it.
We light the candle of hope in the face of Covid-19,
sickness, loneliness, isolation, and uncertainty.

God’s hope shines on hopelessness and brightens the path toward peace.
Emmanuel, God be with us, in the week to come.
Fill us with hope so that we may radiate your presence
among family and friends. Amen
