Welcome
Call to Worship (Psalm 24)
The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
The world, and those who live in it;
For he has founded it on the seas,
And established it on the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
Who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
And do not swear deceitfully.
Let us worship God with reverence and awe!
Opening Hymn: "All people that on earth do dwell" #65 (Dowland, Kethe)
Opening Prayers
Catechism Lesson: Lord's Day 1 (Heidelberg Catechism)
What is your only comfort in life and in death?
That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul,
in life and in death—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,
and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way
that not a hair can fall from my head
without the will of my Father in heaven;
in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit,
assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready
from now on to live for him.
